Okay, so I've been looking into exchange programs. I decided long ago that i want to do a summer homestay program. But looking on the website and at al the programs. I've been leaning towards doing a semester in the fall of my senior year. My friends have told me that this might not be the best idea because senior year in the states is socially suppoded to be the best of your life. However, i see it as being the same old same old. Besides when am i ever going to get the same exact chance for the same exact experience like this one ever again???? One friend also mentioned that applying to college might be difficult, or this could mess up my graduation date, and that a summer program would be the best way to keep my same future plans for college and beyond. the more i think about it, the more i want to truly experience what teenagers lives are like in other countries. including school. Does anyone have any advice on how they made their decision? Also if anyone has spent a semester or a year in Czech republic, France, or Germany, let me know about your experience too, those are the countries I'm considering. Thank you!
If you want to do it during the fall of your senior year go for it. You probably can get it to work out if you take the right courses. As for college applications who says that online applications do not exist. Anyways you can do a few practice ones before you leave to make sure you have the hang of it. When it comes to having seniority when you come back you will still have a semester left to have fun in school.
